Twickenham Stadium, London

Strip Out and Enabling

Client: Willmott Dixon
Project: Twickenham Stadium

Brief Description:

Working with Willmott Dixon Interiors, KpH completed the Strip Out and Concrete Demolition project of the Ground Floor, Level 3 and Level 4/5 Concourses at the prestigious Twickenham Stadium, South West London.

Seating an impressive 82,000 spectators, Twickenham is one of the largest dedicated rugby union venues in the world.

Our works enabled the Fit Out of the new build shell and core works to Levels 3, 4, 4A and 5.

This Site was particularly challenging due to the live sports events that continued to take place at the venue throughout the project. KpH had to liaise with Willmott Dixon and the Rugby League to coordinate works around fixtures and ensure that all areas were kept clean, safe and secure in preparation for VIP guest and thousands of visitors.

Willmott Dixon Interiors awarded our Site Manager with their Monthly Health & Safety Award in recognition of his efforts whilst undertaking the Strip Out and Enabling works at Twickenham Stadium.  This resulted in our Site Manger winning 2 tickets to an England Football match.

Scope of Works

The Strip Out works included the removal of the following waste items from Site to a licenced Disposal Centre; of which KpH recycled 99%:

  • Floor; Ceiling (including bulkhead); Stud/Blockwork Partitions; Doors; Fixtures and Fittings; redundant Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) services; Toilets; Kitchen Facilities; and Façade Glazing Ceiling.
  • Removal of metal Staircase.
