Demolition & Enabling Works

KpH are undertaking this 8 week Structural Alteration and Concrete Demolition project for Principle Contractor, GPF Lewis PLC. The building is located in Fitzroy Yard behind the rear gardens of properties in Fitzroy Road, Chalcot Road, Manley Street and Primrose Hill Studios and currently consists of 2 upper storeys with a part basement.
As the building was surrounded by residential properties mitigating disturbance was of great importance to the project and every effort is being made to ensure this is achieved at all times.
The restricted access to site meant that the removal of waste would be challenging, the client has suspended two parking bays for skips and KpH have increased the number of workforce on site , to assist with a streamlined waste removal process which mitigates disturbance to the neighbouring residents.
The initial works have involved some localised strip out works and the location of ground beams which have subsequently been saw-cut around to ensure they are not damaged in the demolition of the ground floor RC slab. We have implemented a strict noisy working hours programme to minimise disruption to neighbouring properties.
Additional Scope of Works involves the:
- Removal of 1st floor structure
- Removal of perimeter blockwork walls
- Removal of ground floor slab
- Removal of steel movable staircase
- Removal of chimney from ground floor
