Building 1220, Arlington Business Park
Strip Out and Enabling
Client: | Patron / Beadmans |
Project: | Building 1220, Arlington Business Park |
Brief Description
KpH undertook this 6 week Strip Out and Enabling project for the Client, Patron, as the Principal Contractor, working alongside Beadmans.
Building 1220 is situated on the Northern edge of Arlington Business Park, is 3-storeys high and contains approximately 30,000 square feet of office space, associated receptions, circulation and service spaces.
Arlington Business Park is a live site and therefore KpH had to minimise disruption to daily activities and protect the safety of the general public. One of the ways this was achieved was by sectioning off an unused curve in the road to locate the Skip Loading Area (allowing traffic to move freely to and from the building), and surrounding it with heras fencing.
KpH planned and coordinated the M&E removal works, which were particularly complex due to a number of services needing to remain active throughout the project. Certain M&E services required looping, and the existing systems isolated, before the fan coils could be removed.
KpH overcame the restrictions of movement on site, and the logistical difficulties caused by the location of the waste disposal and welfare areas, and successfully completed the contract within a tight deadline.
Scope of Works
The following strip out and enabling work were carried out:
- Floor Coverings, Ceilings, Grid System, Acoustic Barriers and Partition Walls.
- Kitchen/Tea Points and Toilets.
- Fixtures and Fittings including: window blinds, joinery items, floor boxes and signage.
- Redundant M&E including: radiators, intruder alarms and data services.
