1-5 London Wall – Phase 1

Strip Out & Enabling

Client: Endurance Land
Project: 1-5 London Wall – Phase 1

Brief Description:

Acting in the capacity of Principal Contractor, KpH were engaged by Quantem Consulting, on behalf of our Client, Endurance Land, to undertake Phase 1 of 2 which consisted of an 8 week Sympathetic Strip Out and Enabling project at 1-5 London Wall Buildings; a Grade II listed property (built in 1901). The building is comprised of circa 209,307 ft² of office, A1, A3 and ancillary accommodation arranged over basement, lower ground, ground and eight upper floors.

This project has been split onto two phases, with this first phase stripping out 30% of the building footprint whilst it remained occupied. Due to the building being occupied and being surrounded by live buildings and high-profile tenants, noise monitoring was carried out and constant liaison with neighbours and the Building Management ensured smooth progression of works adapting our programming to assist with specific “quiet times” requested.

The project was enrolled on a sustainability programme which meant as part of the project, we would look to dismantle for re-use as many items as possible. To achieve maximum social impact KpH partnered with Globechain, a market place that connects construction projects with charities and community organisations and were able to donate the items you see listed to the right. This initiative will be adopted on the next phase also due to it’s success.
