Strip Out and Enabling

Client: Willmott Dixon
Project: 1 – 2 Grosvenor Crescent, London

Brief Description

KpH Deconstruction completed a 8 week programme of Strip-Out and Enabling works on the Lower Ground, Ground and Floor 1 to 4, of a Grade II listed building at 1-2 Grosvenor Crescent in London.

There had been some water damage within the existing building which had led to the growth of toxic mould. It was therefore essential that extra care was taken to protect the workforce from exposure to this hazard and dispose of the effected waste carefully and responsibly.

Waste had to be removed from Site without the use of the lift (which were not operational at the time of the works). KpH therefore had to be particularly resourceful and inventive to design the best waste removal route and process out of the building from each floor, being careful to protect the all remaining listed features, that lined the route, from dust or damage.

Some of the heritage plaster to the walls and ceilings had to be retained and KpH treated this with the utmost care in line with its Grade II listed status. Other features successfully protected were the fireplaces and skirtings.
